Free Monstera Deliciosa GOBOs
As a nature loving guy, I happen to own a large Monstera Deliciosa. Large enough that it tries to grow through the ceiling of my apartment, with leaves ranging from 12 cm to 70 cm. When I turn on the light at night, its leafs create stunning shadows on my walls. That’s how I came up with the idea of making Monstera Deliciosa GOBOs from my beautiful plant.
You can use (Monstera Deliciosa) GOBOs to create interesting shadow effects in your scene. This, without having to model the entire Monstera Deliciosa plant to create these shadow effects. So it’s quite resource effective!
For those who don’t know what a GOBO is; it’s an object you place in front of a light to control the shape of the emitted light and its shadows.
The images are in PNG 8-bit Grayscale format and are around 3000px (with different aspect ratios). So no ugly JPEG artifacts in these images! You’ll get 9 unique Monstera Deliciosa GOBOs (plus one bonus, which is a combined image). You can easily stack them in Photoshop / Affinity Photo / Krita and create new unique GOBOs. Or stack them in your 3D software (such as Blender).
In Blender (or any other 3D program) you can place a plane with an alpha in front of a light source or use it as an image texture for the spotlight lamp.
GOBOs are quite easy to make, but if you don’t have the time to do so, you can download them here for free.
